Thanks to all who participated in the first ever BDM contests. To those who entered songs/stories, we applaud you for your talents and willingness to put it out there in front of others. To those who voted we also say thanks for making the contest a success.

We had just over 100 votes for the week and feel like the turnout was pretty good considering. We have already been contacted about doing another so there is probable opportunity to see it happen again in the near future.

Other News

Over the coming weeks you might see a few changes around here. I’ve just finished reading a book that has given me some ideas for the site. Hopefully they will come to fruition and you will see the benefits. Add any suggestions you might have in the comments below and we’ll at least mull them over with our upcoming changes.

Artist Added

Enough time has been given to listen to, and vote for, Arman Srsa for our user submitted artists section. At the time of post, Arman has a 70% rating and just makes his way in the door. Congrats, Arman. Keep up the good work. We look forward to hearing your future sounds.

Thanks to all who participate.

Got a few votes here and there for some contests. From comments and emails its almost split on ‘Stories from the road’ and ‘Best cover.’

Contest #1: Stories from the road - Write up your best story/tale from the most current Jack tour (including the world tour from the spring). Post it in the comments below or email it in. We’ll collect them all and set them to a vote.

Contest #2: Best cover (Jack or other bdm artist) - Video or audio. For video, host it on Vimeo or YouTube and then post the link in the comments. For audio, email us and we’ll host it here.

We’ll try to compile and keep track of all submissions in one general area. Users to vote and top three in each category will get free schwag. Submit your own stuff. Don’t go to YouTube and find some cover done by somebody else. Keep it legit.

You name the contest in the comments, vote amongst yourselves and we’ll keep an eye on it. This does require a little classroom participation, which we have had very little of from you so far.

Once we decide the contest, we’ll kick it off and start giving out the free stuff.
